"Sabor de Sanchez" is a gem nestled in San Antonio, TX, offering a vivid taste of Colombian cuisine that has left patrons raving. Many customers, like Nina Carr, express sheer delight over dishes such as the Bandeja Paisa, a hearty platter celebrated for its authenticity. The fluffy arepas, notably loved by Lady Wright, and delectable empanadas showcase the restaurant's commitment to Colombian culinary traditions.
Reviews underscore that the food not only satisfies the palate but also evokes nostalgia; Vero C.'s Colombian au pair remarked it reminded her of her grandmother's cooking. The ambiance, adorned with Colombian decor, adds to the experience, making it feel like a home away from home.
Despite minor service hiccups like staggered serving times mentioned by Tristan Garcia, the overall consensus is that the food's flavor far outweighs any drawbacks. Deja Garcia’s experience encapsulates the restaurant’s lure, as even her teenage family members were won over by the robust flavors. With a charismatic owner and a commitment to quality, Sabor de Sanchez is a must-visit for anyone craving authentic Colombian fare.

Food was absolutely amazing. I’ve seen this place daily but always forgot to stop and try it... glad I did this time. Service was great as well. I tried the Bandeja paisa, 3 different empanadas, 2types of arepas, and the tamale... omg the tamale was excellent. I’ve never had better.

Our Colombian au pair was feeling a little homesick. We decided to look for a Colombian restaurant for dinner. The food was amazing. Our AP said it tasted like her grandmother’s cooking. The food was delicious and the kids enjoyed their dishes as well. We will definitely be back.

First time trying Columbian food. It was authentic because one of my in-laws is from Columbia and he said it was how they made it there .This was his 1st time eating at this place. The establishment is pretty small with lots of pictures and decor of Columbia. While one of my issues was they brought food out in different intervals so not everyone was served together however the food was delicious. I didn't get enough pictures but I'd definitely eat there again.

I loved, loved, loveeeeed the food. Did I mention I loved it? It was amazing. Owner was sweet and charismatic. Such amazing taste I had to order more food to take home for the rest of the family to try and it was a success. Even the teens devoured it. Being Spanish from NYC and Washington heights my Spanish food expectations are pretty high but this place superceded my expectations. Will Def go back very soon.

Phenomenal! We visited with a group of five and ordered sancocho, beef empanadas, chicken empanadas, hot dogs, and picada for two. Everything was scrumptious and reminded me of mi tierrita. My favorite was el aji.
